Dolan Condemns plans to scrap parts of Northern Ireland Protocol



A Fermanagh/South Tyrone MLA says reports that the British government is planning legislation that would allow it scrap parts of the Northern Ireland Protocol will not distract attention away from the upcoming Stormont Assembly elections.

 

It’s understood a new bill could be announced just days after the elections which would allow Boris Johnson’s government to remove parts of the protocol

 

That’s according to a report in the Financial Times.

 

 

The British Prime Minister Claims the issue needs to be addressed however Sinn Fein MLA Jemma Dolan has strongly condemned any possible moves to scrap pats of the Protocol, she says the timing of the announcement will not be a distraction during the elections.
