Man dies in hospital after Sligo assault



A man has died in hospital in Dublin as a result of injuries he sustained in an assault in Sligo earlier this week.

 

Gardaí in Sligo are continuing to appeal for witnesses in relation to the incident that occurred at Rockwood Parade, Sligo on Tuesday last.

 

 

The man in his late 30’s taken from the scene and treated for apparent head injuries at Sligo university Hospital and Beaumont Hospital.

 

He has since passed away at Beaumont Hospital.

 

A post mortem will be conducted and the results of which will direct the further course of the investigation.

 

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Any persons who were in the vicinity on Tuesday evening from 5p.m. to 6.15p.m. and also any persons who may have camera footage or dash cam footage from the location at the time of the incident to make it available to them.
