Sligo Gardaí investigating serious assault



 

Gardaí in Sligo are appealing for witnesses in relation to a serious assault that occurred at Rockwood Parade, yesterday evening (Tuesday 19th April 2022).

 

Shortly after 6 p.m., Emergency Services attended the scene and treated a man in his late 30’s for an apparent head injury.  The man was then removed to Sligo University Hospital. He has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin where his condition is described as critical.

 

The scene was preserved and a forensic examination has been conducted.

 

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They want to hear from anyone that was in the Rockwood Parade area on Tuesday evening from 5p.m. to 6.15p.m.

Gardaí have appealed to those that may have camera footage or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident to make it available to them.

Gardaí have confirmed in a statement to OceanFM that Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
