Sligo hospital the joint-third most overcrowded in country today



Sligo University Hospital is the joint third most-overcrowded hospital in the country today.

It has 32 patients waiting for beds, 19 in the emergency department and 13 in wards and elsewhere.

St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin also has 32 patients waiting while the number is 44 in Cork University Hospital and 84 in University Hospital Limerick.

There are 10 patients waiting for beds in Letterkenny University Hospital, eight of whom are in the emergency department.

Overall throughout the country today, 355 people are waiting in hospitals for beds.
