Sligo Rovers hang on to beat Finn Harps 1-0

Sligo Rovers ended a run of three defeats in their last four league matches by beating Finn Harps 1-0 in Monday’s north west derby at Finn Park.

Karl O’Sullivan’s first-half goal proved to be the matchwinner, although they were hanging on at the end as Harps poured forward in search of a late equaliser.

Rovers looked the better team for a good portion of this game – but in the closing stages they retreated and Harps worked hard to try and take advantage.

Liam Rudden had a glorious opporunity to bring Harps level deep in injury time but his header was off target.
