Among those at Sligo vigil, thoughts of deceaseds’ families and friends — and shared memories

The families and friends of the two men killed in Sligo this week were uppermost in the thoughts of those who attended a vigil in their memory organised by Sligo Pride yesterday evening outside Sligo Town Hall that was attended by hundreds of people.

Also present were the Mayor of Sligo, Cllr Arthur Gibbons; the Bishop of the Diocese of Elphin Kevin Doran and Dr. Jamshaid Sulehri of the Islamic Cultural Centre in Sligo.

Speaking to Ocean FM News at the vigil, Savannah, originally from Donegal, said it was horrible to see what had happened to people who were loved in their community.

Meanwhile, many of those at yesteday evening’s vigil knew Aidan Moffitt and Michael Snee.

Among them were Simone and Tom Hickey, with Simone recalling how years ago she did Irish dancing with Michael.
