Updated: Sligo Murders suspect expected to be charged shortly

A man in his 20s is expected to be charged in connection with the double murder of two men in Sligo later today.

The man’s detention period was extended, but questioning was suspended overnight.

The period of extension is expected to end shortly and the man is then expected to be charged in relation to the deaths of both Aidan Moffitt and Michael Snee, who were found dead in their homes having suffered what Gardaí describe as  ‘severe physical injuries’

Once the suspect is charged he is then likely to be brought before a court later this afternoon or evening.

Gardaí have appealed for more possible victims to come forward.

It’s feared that other men may have been attacked, stalked or harassed and are too afraid to report the incidents.
