Alice named in Republic squad for Malta tournament



Ballinafad native Alice Lillie has been named in the Republic of Ireland Under 16 Women’s squad for an upcoming invitational tournament in Malta.

Alice, who started her career with Arrow Harps currently plays for Sligo Rovers Under 17 Women’s Team.

The left-back is a student at Ursuline College in Sligo.

The Republic of Ireland will play three fixtures across a six-day period starting with Turkey on Thursday at 10am Irish time.

Head Coach Tom Elmes’ side then face Lebanon on April 16th at 2pm Irish time before facing host country Malta three days later at 2pm in their final game.

Sligo Rovers Senior Women’s Team Goalkeeper Kristen Sample is the squad’s Goalkeeping Coach.
