Health official says public’s behaviour over Easter will determine if there will be further Covid-19 wave

The behaviour of the public over the Easter Bank Holiday will be crucial in preventing a spike of covid-19 cases similar to the one that was experienced after the St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

That’s according to the director of public health for the HSE north-west.

Dr Anthony Breslin says that while the number of cases has reduced in recent times it’s important to guard against compliancy over the Easter holidays.

Speaking to Ocean FM News Dr Breslin says that although numbers are reducing he’s encouraging those that have not yet received their vaccinations to do so.
