Tyrone edge past Donegal after extra-time

Donegal under-20 gaelic footballers produced a battling display in Friday night’s Ulster semi-final at Celtic Park before being edged out by Tyrone after extra-time on a final scoreline of 3-16 to 2-16.

Garry Duffy’s side look to be in trouble at half-time when they trailed their opponents by double scores, 0-8 to 0-4, but two second-half goals helped Donegal get back on level terms in the closing stages and force the semi-final into extra-time.

Tyrone led by one at half-time in extra-time and then Conor Cush’s late goal put the result beyond doubt as Tyrone booked their place in the provincial decider.

They now face Cavan in the Ulster under-20 final in a fortnight’s time after the Breffni County beat Derry in Friday night’s other semi-final by 0-11 to 0-9.
