Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon made a winning start to their Brian McCormick Sports senior football leagueu Division 1 campaign on Sunday with a 0-9 to 0-4 victory against Kilcar in Towney.
New manager John McNulty saw his team overcome the side he managed last season to collect their first two league points of the new All-County league.
Last year’s league winners Naomh Conaill picked up where they left off with a comprehensive 0-17 to 0-5 success over neighbours Ardara at Davy Brennan Memorial Park.
In Division 2, Naomh Columba recorded a 1-14 to 0-11 win over Letterkenny Gaels, while Naomh Ultan Dunkineely secured a narrow one-point win over Urris in Division 3 on Sunday.
In the senior hurling, Setanta beat county champions St Eunan’s by 3-12 to 0-8.
