Connollys Audi Sligo have been announced as the new title sponsor of golf’s West of Ireland Golf Championship for 2022.
One of the signature events on the Irish golfing calendar returns to its traditional Easter Weekend date at County Sligo Golf Club, from April 15th to 19th.
The new Connollys Audi deal is for one year – with the option for the new backers to extend that partnership in 2023 when the ‘West’ is set to celebrate its centenary year.
The format of the 2022 West of Ireland championship will be a mixture of strokeplay and matchplay golf – with three strokeplay rounds from Good Friday to Easter Sunday (April 15th-17th).
The top 16 scores will then qualify for final two days of matchplay on Easter Monday and Tuesday (April 18th and 19th).
