Carbury celebrate fifth consecutive Super League title

Carbury FC are Sligo Leitrim Southern Hotel Super League champions for the fifth season in a row following Sunday morning’s 6-1 win away to Real Tubber.

The result means Carbury move four points clear of title rivals Cartron United who, with just one league game remaining, cannot catch John Feeney’s side.

Carbury fell behind to Real Tubber in the opening half of Sunday’s game – but then equalised through Mark McGoldrick.

Jason Lyons and Neil Brennan added further goals to give Carbury a 3-1 half-time lead.

Mark Hannon added a fourth for the leaders early in the second-half – and Gareth Kelly made it five.

Lyons then added his second of the game to make it 6-1 in the closing quarter.

Sunday’s win completes an impressive league run by Carbury who were eight points behind Cartron in the title race just a few weeks ago.

However, an impressive winning run, which included a 2-1 success against Cartron, has seen them regain top spot and title once again.
