Sligo lose again in rugby’s All-Ireland league

Sligo senior men’s rugby team squandered a 25-0 lead to lose to Malahide 28-25 in Saturday’s Energia All-Ireland League Division 2B game in Dublin.

Sligo appeared to be in control of this contest for much of the afternoon, yet they somehow contrived to allow Malahide respond with 28 unanswered points to snatch victory at the finish.

Josh Reeves side established a 25-0 advantage and a bonus point thanks to two tries from Philip Carter and touchdowns from Aaron Spring Gui Coghetto.

But from then, they lost there way as Malahide staged a remarkable second-half comeback to take the win.

The result leaves Sligo some 18 points adrift of the end-of-season play-off places.
