Donegal Councillor warns events in the Ukraine will impact local tourism

A Donegal Councillor says the upcoming tourism conference which will take place in Ballybofey next week will have to address the impact the war on the Ukraine could have on tourism in the north west.

‘Adopting to change’ is the theme of the event which is being organised by Donegal County Council.

Cllr Barry Sweeney says that with many hotels accommodating those fleeing the Ukraine there may be more of demand for self-catering accommodation such as caravan parks.

Speaking to Ocean FM news the Ballyshannon based Councillor says it’s vital the event in Ballybofey a week from today address key challenges addressing the tourism and hospitality sectors
