Sligo Councillor calls for more more garda resources to combat growing drug problem in the North West

A Sligo Councillor says proper resources must be provided to Gardaí in the North West to adequately tackle the issue of growing drug use in the counties of Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.

A former cocaine addict says he could get a supply of drugs delivered “within 15 minutes” through social media.

Sligo Drumcliffe Councillor Cllr Thomas Walsh says An Armed Response Unit for the north west, a new garda station in Sligo and adequate patrol cars are all immediately required by Gardaí locally to combat increased drug used in the region.
