Leitrim Hurlers defeated in final league game

Leitrim’s hurlers concluded their Allianz National Hurling League campaign with a two-point defeat to Fermanagh in Ballinamore on Sunday afternoon.

Having recorded victories over Lancashire and Cavan in the opening two rounds and a defeat to Longford in Round Three, Olcan Conway’s side knew that a win would have seen them draw level on points with the Ernesiders in the Division 3B table.

However, goals from Luca McCusker and Seán Corrigan ensured Fermanagh preserved their status as the table toppers and progression to the Division 3B final.

From a Leitrim perspective, Joe Murray helped himself to a goal and twelve points but it was not enough as Leitrim must now prepare for the Lory Meagher Cup which begins on Sunday, April 10th at home to Longford.
