Sligo handballers contest All-Ireland finals



Two young Sligo handballers are contesting finals at the The All Ireland 40×20 Four-Wall Handball Finals which take place this weekend.

Ballymote player Cormac Finn contests the Minor Singles Final when he plays the Leinster Champion Kyle Jordan(Kilkenny) on Saturday Morning.

Cormac had a great win in his semi-final match recently when he defeated Fiachra O’ Duill (Armagh) in two straight games at the Gortnamona Handball Club in Belfast.

Earlier this year, Cormac secured the Connacht Minor Singles with a hard fought match 21-20 2- 9
victory over Rory Carty (Roscommon).

It is a significant boost for Sligo Handball to have a contender in the All-Ireland Four-Wall Minor Final.

Karly Cooney from the Castleconnor Club plays Emer Barron (Kilkenny) in the Girls Under 17 singles final on Sunday.

Cooney booked her place in the final when she defeated the Munster Champion Emma Sweeny (Tipperary) having lost her first game 21 16 coming back to win the second 21-9 and 11-1 in the tie-break.
