Eight searches related to money laundering carried out in Sligo today



Eight searches were carried out in Co. Sligo this morning where financial documents, documents relating to business activity and assets along with electronic storage devices and a small quantity of cannabis was seized.

Over €85,000 in financial accounts has been restrained.

The Criminal Assets Bureau and members of the Sligo/Leitrim Garda Division, Garda Dog Unit and Revenue Custom Dog Unit conducted a search operation in Co. Sligo this morning.

Five residential properties, one yard and shed, and two professional premises were searched and no arrests have been made at this time.

The investigation focussed on assets and activities of people believed to be benefiting from, and laundering the proceeds of criminal conduct.
