Sligo and Leitrim prepare for Connacht LGFA Minor Championship



The Connacht LGFA Minor Championship begins this weekend with Sligo and Leitrim set for home games against tough opposition on the opening weekend.

The competition, which will be played in a round robin basis with results deciding who plays in the A, B or C finals.

Sligo, managed by Mayo native Martin O’Hagan begin their campaign at home to Galway on Sunday. The match will be played at Fr. Kevin Brehony Park in Keash, home of Eastern Harps with a 2pm throw-in.

Kilmoremoy clubman O’Hagan was previously in charge of the Sligo Under 16’s in 2021.

Elsewhere, Leitrim are managed by Jerome Quinn for the upcoming championship. He is joined on his management by Maeve Quinn, Marian McKeon, Michelle Reynolds and Monica Kelleher.

Quinn’s Leitrim side will host Mayo at Annaduff GAA Grounds on Sunday at 2pm.
