Red Cross claims that the north west is providing generous support to Ukrainian refugees.



459 people across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal have pledged accommodation to Ukrainian refugees.

 

Figures released by the Irish Red Cross show 80 people have pledged in Co. Leitrim, 151 in Sligo and 228 in Co. Donegal.

 

Frank Phelan, Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager with the Irish Red Cross says people in the north west and across Ireland have been ‘generous’ in their support for the people of Ukraine with over 12,000 pledges nationwide.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM News, he says the response compared to the Syrian refugee crisis is ‘incredible.
