‘Flash mob’ in Sligo on Friday to demand change around violence against women

The Domestic Violence Advocacy Service is hosting a ‘flash mob’ dance on Friday to raise awareness on violence against women and to demand change as a society.

The flash mob is being organised in association with Sligo Ask for Angela and begins at 1:30pm in Wine Street carpark tomorrow.

As part of the event, a tea party fundraiser is also taking place in the Town Hall which is the first event to be hosted by Mayor, Arthur Gibbons, since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Manager of DVAS, Carmel McNamee says society needs to ‘rise up and say no to violence against women’.
