A walker has died after collapsing on the Slishwood Trail in Sligo.
10 members of the Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team were asked to assist after a man had collapsed along the the boardwalk section near Slish Wood as an ambulance could not reach the location.
Coastguard Helicopter 118 was also assisting, however, despite the best efforts of all involved, the 72 year old passed away.
His remains were stretchered out to an ambulance at the car park where he was then removed to Sligo University Hospital
Speaking to OceanFM News, Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team PRO, Henry Doherty, said all involved wanted to express their sympathy with the family.
