MacSharry and Taoiseach clash again, this time over passports

A heated exchange has taken place in the Dáil this afternoon between a Sligo Leitrim TD and the Taoiseach over the process in involved in renewing or applying for passports.

Sligo Leitrim TD Deputy Marc MacSharry raised the matter with Micheal Martin.

Deputy MacSharry outlined how the turnaround time for renewal and applications for passport applications is ‘unacceptable’.

The Deputy rejected the response from the Taoiseach that additional resources allocated to the Passport Office will help address the time scale involved when getting a passport.
