Sligo Athletic Club’s Karen Mulrooney broke the club’s marathon record with a time of 2:41:25 at the 37th Seville Marathon in Spain on Sunday morning.
Despite only picking up a pair of running shoes seven years ago, Ballisodare native Mulrooney showed experience of a veteran in the southwestern Spanish city.
She joined Austin O’Callaghan on Ocean FM’s Sport on Sunday from Seville to discuss the record breaking run.
