MacManus claims more information on Brexit should have been circulated

A Midlands North West MEP says the general public should have received more accurate information in relation to Brexit and in particular how it would impact Northern Ireland.

MEP’s have expressed their regret for the “restraint and limited engagement of the European Parliament” ahead of the Brexit referendum.

The UK voted to leave the European Union on 23 June 2016.

A new parliamentary report on the Article 50 process has found that citizens “were often misled about the implications of the withdrawal, especially as regards Northern Ireland”.

Sinn Fein MEP, Chris MacManus, backs the report’s findings. He says voters should have been better informed by the EU.
