The N15 road at Moneygold in north Sligo has reopened to traffic.
It had been closed following a fatal traffic accident last night.
A female pedestrian in her early 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is believed she was struck by a vehicle.
Gardaí at Sligo are appealing for witnesses; the accident occurred around 10 p.m.
