Calls for a skate park in Sligo

A Sligo councillor has joined calls for a public outdoor skatepark to be built in the county.

Fine Gael’s Thomas Walsh says there is a growing community of skaters in town and county but no dedicated place for them to safely practise and socialise.

He says in his local area, some have taken to skating off the side of Ballydrehid Bridge.

Councillor Walsh believes a skatepark would have many benefits ,not only for the skating community but also adding another social outlet for children and young people.
