Sligo Councillor says more support must be given to Irish people born in England



Today’s monthly meeting of Sligo County Council will hear calls for the local authority to Contact the government in relation to providing redress and assistance to Irish babies born in England when it comes to  securing their Irish Bert Certificates.

 

Sligo Strandhill Councillor Gino O’ Boyle has tabled a motion on the issue which will discussed later this morning.

 

The Solidarity People Before Profit Councillor says a large number of people are finding it difficult to secure the information required to obtain a birth cert.
