Leitrim have confirmed that David Bruen of Leitrim Gaels will be the county senior team captain for the 2022 season.
He will lead the team out in Sunday’s Allianz Football League Division 4 opener against Cavan in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Bruen, a club intermediate championship winner with Leitrim Gaels in 2019, is in just his second full season with the senior county team.
He captained Leitrim in the Connacht FBD match against Sligo earlier this month – and now manager Andy Moran has given him the captaincy for the full season ahead.
Sunday’s league game with Cavan will be live on oceanfm.ie from 2pm in association with Mc Manus Pharmacy, New Line, Manorhamilton and Leitrim GAA’s 50 Miles in January Challenge.
