Fans face price increase for LOI streaming service

The cost of watching Sligo Rovers or Finn Harps in the League of Ireland this season is set to increase.

The FAI has announced that every men’s and women’s SSE Airtricity League match will be streamed live this season by LOITV.ie.

There will be no season pass available to subscribers this year.

Instead, each men’s Premier Division game will be available to buy for €7. These matches will have two-camera coverage.

First Division matches will cost €5 to stream.

All women’s league games will be free, once you’ve registered online.

However, the absence of a season pass this time around means the overall cost to subscribe to the service is increasing significantly.

For example: last season, Rovers supporters spent a total of €138 on a season pass which enabled them to watch every Premier Division game.

This year, following one team is set to cost €252 online.

Nonetheless, the decision to stream women’s SSE Airtricity League games at no charge will be welcome news for Rovers fans as the club prepares for its first season in senior football.
