8pm closing time has had ‘devastating’ impact on north west hospitality



The chairman of the Donegal Branch of the Irish Hotel’s Association says the 8pm closing time has had a ‘devastating’ impact on the hospitality sector across the north west.

Covid passes for indoor dining and the curfew are set to be scrapped, as NPHET recommends the easing of almost all restrictions.

Cabinet will meet this afternoon to sign off on a reopening plan, which will see nightclubs back in business and full attendances at matches and gigs.

Masks will still be required on public transport and in shops, while Covid passes will still be needed for international travel.
