Failure to pay energy bill subsidy will impact homes

A Donegal TD is warning that many households will be seriously impacted if the promised 100 payment of a subsidy towards electricity costs to all homes is not paid.

It was reported this week that the issuing of the once off payment could be delayed despite the government giving assurances before Christmas that it would be ready on time.

Deputy Thomas Pringle says many households had budgeted for the payment to help cover their first electricity bill of the new year.

The Independent TD say any delays could now lead to them not being able to meet other bills.

Deputy Pringle says the government to honour their commitment they made to the public.
