Donegal TD calls for urgent review of Disabled Drivers and Passengers Scheme

A Donegal Independent TD is calling for an urgent review of the Disabled Drivers and Passengers Scheme following the resignation of the Disabled Drivers Medical Board of Appeal.

The board deals with appeals for people who were unsuccessful when they applied for a Primary Medical Certificate.

Deputy Thomas Pringle says the board resigned yesterday as they feel the government are ‘dragging their heels’ in relation to reviewing the the scheme.

Speaking to OceanFM News, he says one of the concerns raised is people from Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal having to travel to Dublin to have their appeal heard.
