A new pedestrian crossing is planned for Ballymote.
An application for funding has now been submitted to install the safety measures on the R293.
Local Councillor, Dara Mulvey says it’s something he has actively looked for on a number of occasions and says it will be beneficial to school children, the elderly and walkers crossing the busy section.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Councillor Mulvey says it’s hoped the works will have started and be completed before the summer.
