3,769 Covid-19 cases were recorded over the festive period across the north west.
Figure from the Health protection Surveillance Centre show 415 cases were documented in Leitrim between the 26th of December and the 1st of January.
A further 817 were recorded in Sligo and the majority, 2,537 people, were infected with the virus during this time.
The rates for Sligo and Leitrim were below the national rate of 1,366 with 1,247 and 1,295 respectively.
Donegal had a rate of 1,598.
