Letterkenny University Hospital has the most Covid-19 patients nationally for the third day in a row according to the latest HSE figures.
There are 72 people currently receiving treatment for the virus in the hospital two of whom are in the ICU.
There are 1,004 patients being treated which is the first time the national figure has been above 1,000 since February last year.
There are a further 24 Covid-19 patients in Sligo University Hospital with none in the ICU.
When it comes to overcrowding in the north west, 44 people are waiting for a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital and 33 in Sligo University Hospital.
HSE chief executive Paul Reid says there’s no sign of the numbers peaking yet.
