Bank of Ireland ATM gone from Main Street in Glenties

A Bank of Ireland ATM has been removed from what local people have described as a prime location in a Donegal town.

The cash machine in Glenties had been located on the town’s main street.

It’s removal follows the closure of the Bank of Ireland branch in the town earlier this year.

Bank of Ireland said when a branch closes, it generally includes decommissioning the ATM at the time of closure.

However, it said that in Glenties, Bank of Ireland retained its ATM beyond the branch closure date pending the arrival of a Euronet ATM to the town, which was installed on Main Street last month.

Bank of Ireland also says its partnership with An Post provides over-the-counter cash withdrawals for customers.
