Hail, sleet, ice and possibly snow across north west tonight, tomorrow morning

Hail, sleet and snow is set to bring hazardous conditions right across the North West from this evening through tonight to tomorrow morning.

A Status Yellow warning for snow and ice took effect from 4pm this afternoon and runs through to 11am tomorrow morning.

Met Eireann says showers will be most widespread in the west and north, and there’s also the chance of isolated thunderstorms.

Mark Bowe from Met Eireann has been outlining to our reporter John Lynch what is in store for the counties of Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
