More bad news for Mica homeowners in Donegal

A Donegal Mica Redress campaigner says the non-processing of stage 1 Mica Applications by Donegal County Council due to an outstanding clarification needed from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage is another major blow to those that are living in houses which are impacted by the defective block condition.

The local authority in Donegal has confirmed a holding letter has been issued to homeowners advising that their application cannot be further progressed due to the delay.

The delay will result in 90% of costs incurred by homeowners through the preparation of an engineer’s reports not be paid out until the issue has been resolved.

Paddy Diver a mica redress campaigner says the decision to stall the application process is causing major distress to impacted home- owners.
