Cannabis, cash seized in Donegal Town area

Cannabis with an estimated street value of €1,300 and over €4,000 in cash were seized by gardai in the Donegal Town area last night.

The discovery was made after Ballyshannon District Drugs Unit (Donegal Town), assisted by uniformed members at Donegal Town Garda Station, executed a search warrant issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

This seizure forms part of Operation Tara, a national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris last July.

Gardai are urging the public to report any information they have regarding drug dealing within their communities.
