A Sligo publican has welcomed the government’s decision to extend the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme.
It’s being extended to the end of January 2022 and backdated to the 1st of December 2021.
Minister Paschal Donohoe said they couldn’t design a targeted scheme for the hospitality sector in time for Christmas and so have gone this route instead.
The commercial rates waiver for businesses has been extended until the end of March 2022.
Publican, Blaine Gaffney is welcoming the decision but says a plan is needed for the sector going into next year.
