Eamonn O’Hara is new Mohill manager

Sligo’s Eamonn O’Hara has been appointed as the new manager of Mohill in Leitrim.

He succeeds Liam Keenan who guided Mohill to back-to-back senior finals in Leitrim – but has now moved on to manage Longford Slashers.

Mohill won the Leitrim senior championship in 2020 and were county finalists in 2021, losing to Ballinamore Séan O’Heslin’s in the final.

O’Hara co-managed his native Tourlestrane to five consecutive senior club championships in Sligo (2016-2020) along with Gerry McGowan.

He previously managed Ballaghaderreen in Mayo, the home club of new Leitrim senior football boss Andy Moran.

O’Hara joined up with the Sligo county under-20 management team earlier this year.

It’s understood he will continue in his selectors role alongside manager Dessie Sloyan in 2022.

O’Hara had also been in the running for the Sligo senior manager’s job on a couple of occasions in recent years – but now he’s set to delve into club management once again with Mohill.
