27 Covid patients and 95 people waiting on trolleys in Sligo and Donegal



There are almost 100 people being forced to wait for a bed in the north west’s two main hospitals today.

Latest HSE figures show 27 people are also receiving treatment for Covid-19.

The latest Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s Trolley Watch figures find Letterkenny University Hospital is the second most overcrowded in the country today.

70 people are waiting on trolleys or chairs in the hospital with a further 25 waiting in Sligo University Hospital.

436 people in total are waiting for a bed across the country today.

Letterkenny is also treating 19 Covid patients, two of whom are in Intensive Care.

A further eight patients are receiving treatment for the virus in Sligo with none in ICU.

536 people are in Irish hospitals with the virus today along with 110 in ICU.
