23 Covid patients in Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals



There are 79 patients waiting for a bed in the north west’s two main hospitals today.

23 people are also receiving treatment for Covid-19.

The latest Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s Trolley Watch figures find Letterkenny University Hospital is the second most overcrowded in the country today.

54 people are waiting on trolleys or chairs, 17 in the Emergency Department and 37 in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

A total of 25 people ware waiting in Sligo University Hospital; 16 in the Emergency Department and nine elsewhere.

323 people in total are waiting for a bed across the country today.

Letterkenny also has 14 Covid-19 patients, three of which are in Intensive Care and there are no additional ICU beds available.

Nine patients are receiving treatment for the virus in Sligo with one in ICU.

578 people are in Irish hospitals with the virus today along with 122 in ICU.
