Major delays for children waiting on medical services in local region



There are currently 139 children waiting for a first appointment for Speech, Occupational or Physiotherapy in the local region.

 

Calls are being made on the HSE to prioritise the care of children who need to access Therapy Services

 

Former General Election candidate for the Labour Party, Nessa Cosgrove, says 43 children are waiting for Speech and Language Therapy, 74 for Occupational Therapy and 22 under the age of 18 are on a waiting list for physiotherapy.

 

Children’s Disability Network Teams were established across the State earlier on this summer, to replace School Aged Disability Team Services.
