Donegal & Leitrim are the best law abiding counties in Ireland



Donegal and Leitrim are among the most law abiding counties in the Country.

 

Donegal had the lowest numbers of people jailed last year, per capita.  The County’s rate was 42%

 

Mayo, Leitrim where 62 people were sentenced  to a period of time behind bars were the counties with the next lowest rates.

 

Sligo’s rate resulted in 82 out of every 100,000 being jailed.  The figure is just above the national average.

 

Longford, Limerick and Dublin were found to be the most law-breaking counties in Ireland.

 

Last year just under 5,300 people were sent to prisons throughout the country.
