GAA Championship draws being made this Saturday

The draws for the 2022 GAA provincial football championships will be made this Saturday afternoon, November 27th, from 3pm.

They will be broadcast live on RTÉ Radio Sport.

Each of the four provincial championship draws – Connacht, Ulster, Munster and Leinster – will take place.

The winners of each province will secure a place in the quarter-finals of the All-Ireland football championship, with qualifiers and the second tier Tailteann Cup also set to feature next summer.

The 2022 championship will not see the return of the Super 8s series, which ran in 2018 and 2019.

A recent proposal to change the structure of the football championship at the GAA’s Special Congress failed to get the required 60% majority.

It’s understood the football championship structure will be addressed at Annual Congress next February, which will take place in Connacht GAA’s new Air Dome.

Saturday’s draw will take place after 3pm on RTÉ Radio 1.
