Planning permission sought for telecommunications structures in Riverstown & Kinlough

A Planning application has been lodged with the local authority in Sligo for the development of a 30m high telecommunications support structure.

The proposed development in Cuiltylough, Riverstown was lodged by Vantage Towers Limited.

The application includes antennas, dishes and associated telecommunications equipment.

Meanwhile opposition is mounting in the north Leitrim village of Kinlough to a separate application from Vantage Towers Limited to erect a 30m high telecoms tower.

It’s proposed to locate the tower only metres from homes, businesses and protected buildings in the village.

The proposed structure will have multiple antennae, dishes, and other equipment to accommodate 3G, 4G and 5G technology.

Local Councillor Justin Warnock says there is concern in the community in relation to the proposed structure.
