Manorhamilton public meeting to proceed as planned

The residents of Manorhamilton will have the opportunity to voice their concerns over the closure of banks and the erosion of public services in the town at a public meeting tonight.

The meeting which will be chaired by the former RTE journalist Ciaran Mullooly has been called to discuss what can be done to address the situation of the lack of services in the north Leitrim area.

Kevin Comiskey is one of the organisers of tonight’s event.

He says that despite the concern over the high number of covid cases in the area, tonight’s meeting will go ahead as planned and will comply with HSE guidelines in relation to Covid-19.

The local farming official says time is running out for the community to try and retain financial services.
